O'Brien Family
Band Biography 2006
The O'Brien Family has completed another full year traveling
and playing music. Known as the "Family that Entertains
Families" they have now performed in over twenty states.
Both Kyle (15) and Maura (12) are W.M.A. yodeling champions
and fiddlers. Kyle's reputation as a mandolin wizard is quickly
spreading. Kyle's frame, too, is quickly growing. . .up. If
you haven't seen him for several months or more, get ready!
Maura, known as "the little girl with the big voice,"
continues to steal shows most nights with her singing, yodeling
and occasional rope and magic tricks. Mother, Janette, is
now working from behind her "new" 1939 Kay upright
bass and Papa Dan has achieved additional honors with his
song writing.
Their newest recording, The Official O'Brien Family CD and
Board game is now available from their website: www.obrienfamilyband.com
and features both Kyle and Maura yodeling, Dan's songwriting,
a few special guests, and a one-of-a-kind board game that
will delight fans of all ages. Board Game is creating quite
a stir when folks get their hands on it.
The O'Brien younguns have always been home schooled ("motor-home
schooled" as Kyle calls it) and, in addition to playing
and hearing wonderful music coast-to-coast, they have been
to countless national parks, state parks, museums, historical
sites, presidential libraries, and festivals large and small.
From New York to California and Texas up to Montana the O'Brien
Family is truly a band on the move, spending far more nights
in their motor home than their stationary home "up the
hill" in Evergreen, Colorado.
The O'Brien's were featured on Fox Television's finale episode
of Trading Spouses in February 2005 and reran in December
2005. This show was seen by more than nine million people
nationwide, and is now being aired internationally as well.
