The O'Brien Family's blend of fiddle tunes, bluegrass,
old-time country, gospel, Western, and original music has
earned them the reputation as, "The Family that
Entertains Families."
For close to four years the O'Brien Family has full-time traveled the United States performing their
music and taking in the sites and sounds of this great country.
Janette has always home schooled the children. "We've
been coast to coast and back again," says father and
motor home driver Dan. "We get to as many historic sites,
National Parks, and, of course, festivals and such as we can
squeeze in.Each
place has its own character, history, and great people. We've
had a ball meeting people and making friends around the U.S.
and hope soon to be able to expand our experiences to different
parts of the world."
The O'Brien Family is quickly becoming a
fixture on the regional Western/bluegrass/gospel/festival
circuits. Dan, Janette, Maura and Kyle hail from Evergreen,
Colorado, in the mountains just west of Denver. Both Maura
(twelve) and Kyle (fifteen), have earned top honors in numerous
fiddle contests and Kyle is now doing the same with his mandolin.
Both children have won The Western Music Association's International Youth Yodeling Championship.
Nominated for the WMA's 2005 Crescendo Award! This
is a one-time award and is given to up-and-coming Western
artists. We would like to thank all the Western Music Association
members for this generous nomination. |
